During the third quarter of 2024, Romania's maps and navigation app landscape saw notable trends among the top five applications. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps demonstrated varying patterns in weekly downloads and active users across unified platforms.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a somewhat fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, peaking at around 43K in mid-July and stabilizing towards the end of September with approximately 35K. The app also maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users increasing from 219K to roughly 235K by the end of the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a high point in downloads in early August, reaching over 41K, before gradually declining to around 21K by the end of September. Its active users showed a similar trend, peaking at over 1.1M in early August and decreasing to approximately 901K by the quarter's close.

Uber - Request a ride had relatively stable weekly downloads, hovering around 15K to 19K throughout the quarter. The active user count remained steady, starting at 132K and ending slightly higher at 135K.

Moovit: Bus & Train Schedules showed an upward trend in both downloads and revenue. Downloads increased significantly from around 9.9K in early July to 15.3K by the end of September. Revenue also climbed, reaching approximately $3.3K in the final week of September. Active users rose from 120K to over 150K within the same period.

Finally, Offline Maps, GPS, Speedometer exhibited a modest yet notable increase in downloads towards the end of the quarter, peaking at over 9K in late September. Active users also increased, reaching over 11K at its highest point.
